Beautiful Luxury Hosiery

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Luxury hosiery label Bebaroque has today announced that they have collaborated with PPQ for their s/s ‘12 collection. Pieces from the designer collection include colourful tights, lots of embellishment and knee high socks; they will all be shown at London Fashion Week this September, exciting! Bebaroque’s celebrity admirers include Florence Welch, Kylie Minogue and Erin O’Connor.

Bebaroque and PPQ’s collaboration has created some stunning pieces of hosiery; my favourites are the brightly coloured tights. In gorgeous deep purples, these tights are beautiful and have bells, bows and tassels down the leg making them extra luxurious (£120). To achieve a similar look, you can shop our purple tights page; these Pretty Polly 60 Denier Fashion Opaques in Grape are great for a fraction of the price! For a glamorous embellished look, try Pretty Poly’s Embellished Tights, £12.00.

Another lovely piece is their leggings with black ribbons sewn in a pattern. If you love ribbons as much as Bebaroque, then try Pretty Polly’s Ribbon Backseam Tights, £8.50; these look amazing on!

What Does Your Hosiery Say About You?

Looking for a promotion? You might want to start thinking about what to wear on your legs.

Whilst I’m sure your ability plays a contributing part (as well as your gender and age, if this week’s ‘positive discrimination’ topic is to be believed.) according to The Wall Street Journal, the colour and style of your tights also plays an important role.

Wool tights remind us of our school days, and being on the playground. Wearing these in the office is un-likely to get us any further than office

assistant. If you’re looking for a promotion, it’s better to leave wool tights for the weekend.

This season’s Punk trend, as seen on catwalks such as Balmain, Burberry and Balenciaga is also best saved for evenings and weekends, especially if you work in the financial sector. Patty Edwards, commented how she’s “not likely to feel good leaving my money there” with someone dressed like a Goth. So the super on trend Pretty Polly Shredded Tights are more suitable after work!

If you’re looking for a promotion, it’s best to take the advice of Sarah Whittaker, an image consultant, who explains that purple is a power colour; those who wear purple tights are most likely to be perceived as being in control. Better stock up on purple tights now!

Your friends will be purple with envy

Plum, lavender, violet and lilac all fall under the beautiful colour of purple. Purple means royalty and it is a mysterious colour associated with nobility and spirituality.
Tights and leggings in purple add a fantastic rich aspect to an outfit. Emerald colours have been seen on almost all the catwalks for spring/summer so this is a fantastic way to channel this trend. They are wearable with both pastel and rich colours making them a very versatile accessory.
Paradise Capris from Levante come in a stunning lilac colour, these capris also have embellishment on them which also make them on trend and fashionable. The floral embellishment will add a splash of oriental style to an outfit. The flower is bound to draw many admiring glances.
For a darker shade try 15 denier tights in berry, these Jonathan Aston tights have a semi sheer appearance, this makes the colours look fantastic yet subtle against your own skin tone.
Toeless two tone socks are available in a purple damson colours, this shade is sure to turn heads as it is very unusual. They are ideal for wearing on a night out with killer heels!
