Today was the opening day of Royal Ascot with thousands of race-goers attending the event, and this year they have been advised a much stricter dress code. If you thought you could get away with streaky fake tanned legs or a short hemline then you’d be wrong! The ‘fashion police’ were on hand with baskets of ties and waistcoats for the gentlemen and pashminas for the women that were deemed inappropriately dressed.
The Queen arrived in a horse and carriage wearing her favourite pastel blue colour and was joined by other members of the Royal Family. Princess Eugenie looked elegant in a peplum style jade green dress accompanied by her favourite nude tights and set a great style example for ladies attending the races this week along with the likes of Amanda Holden who also looked stunning!
To see the real fashion winners and losers, Thursday will be the day to watch with Ascot Ladies Day, let’s see how many pashminas get handed out then!
If you’re attending the Races this week we’d love to see your outfit choices! Send any pics to our twitter @tightsplease or facebook page. If you want to achieve an elegant ladylike look, take a leaf out of the Royal’s book and wear sheer tights in nude shades.
