This year’s Met Ball, headlining celebrity divas wore what we would call a far cry from the regular elegant red carpet ball robes.
The night entailed of various ‘punktastic’ ensembles that made all the fashion icons from Cara Delevigne to Beyonce look as quirkily classic. The looks were exquisitely provocative when it came to women like Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna, who both wore underwear as outerwear.
It seems that Madonna has followed from her inspiration for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring Summer collection that ignited runways this year. She put together a tartan, tweed type ripped-edge grey suit with some black fishnet tights and put black opaque stockings over the top of these.
The fishnet trend, which is huge for spring/summer 2013 circulates in the fashion world prominently and was incorporated in the outfits of other celebrity statement makers. For instance Miley Cyrus wore a gown that was entirely meshed with fishnet, whereas Jenifer Lawrence flaunts it as her fascinator headpiece.
Hook your style with some fishnet tights to stay on trend for the upcoming seasons.

Ladies, if you love your food, it is time to say ‘thanks to spanx’ like Amanda Holden did this weekend!
The Britain’s Got Talent judge said it is not easy to obtain her flawless, petite look without Spanx shapewear to help her into those figure-sculpting dresses that she elegantly flaunts on the show.
As most of us seem to be constantly under pressure to cut-down on certain foods, the 42-year-old claims that shapewear is the way forward, as most diets are ‘rubbish’.
Women should be allowed to gorge on what they wish without feeling as though they are doing something criminal.
The Spanx! Super Power Panties are great, not only to be worn with an hourglass-shaped robe as Holden does, but even under some tight jeans for a casual look of confidence.
This is just one example in an endless range of superb body shapewear consisting of various body-sculpting under-garments, bound to leave you feeling like a Greek Goddess.

Hooray for Friday! The most anticipated day of the week has graced us with its presence and we must say we are welcoming it with more than open arms.
To celebrate ‘Fashion Friday’, we have selected our top three picks for the week.
The Red or Dead Billy Tights are on-point for the trimmed tights trend, featured in catwalk shows by Anna Sui and Jean Paul Gaultier. The fancy tights give an illusion of being cropped, but in actual fact they cover the entire leg. This makes them perfect for the in-between spring to summer transition weather.
How about adding some girly flair to a brand new and shiny evening dress with some Aristoc All over Floral Tights? The tights remain timeless, with floral lace being a perennially chic print for spring/summer.
Let weaved illusions entangle you in fun and frolics this weekend, with some crochet Levante Chevron Lace Footless Tights. This trend has also done the rounds last year in runway spectacles from Anna Sui and Emerson.

Spring/summer 2013 is all about getting entangled in a some crocheted tights with that Gossip Girl allure or a pair of punk-Gaga fishnet tights. These two hottest trends involve enmeshing your pins in delicately woven textures, to create a killer statement – hook, line and sinker.
If you are looking to adorn your legs in some intricate tapestry, as the girls from Gossip Girls would, why not get your hands on a pair of enchanting Mary and Charnos Crochet Lace Tights? These are darted with floral mesh that skirts over sections of the leg intertwined between the crocheted design. These can be worn beautifully with a dark A-line frock to bring out that summer charm.
The most befitting tights that carry off that classic artistic chic with a blend of urban edge are the Pamela Mann Spider Net Tights. These go hand-in-hand with Emerson and Augustin Teboul’s spring/summer 2013 presentations.
If you wish to really follow the most popular catwalk trend of spring/summer 2013, launch your legs forth in some fishnet – a style statement covered by Anna Sui, Betsy Johnson and Jean Paul Gaultier. Try some Jonathan Aston Burlesque Fishnet Tights with Back Seam to subtly pull of the look.
If you wish to cover your legs in an intermingled web of both fishnet and crocheted jazz, go for some Jonathan Aston Honeycomb Tights, which go hand-in-hand with the beekeeper spectacle presented by Alexander McQueen.

Embrace Vintage Chic
Sheer stockings are the perfect way to cast a vintage spell on any ordinary outfit. Accessorise those flowing summer dresses with graceful pin-up chic, by ‘stocking’ up on a few antiquarian nude sheer stockings.
Pretty Socks with Dainty Frocks
Perennially chic, the style worn endlessly for high-fashion spread is at arm’s length. Combine some knee high socks or a pair of lacy floral anklets with an easy and breezy summer’s frock.
Shade Me, Baby!
Nude tights are great for sweltering hot infusion, yet it is crucial to choose the correct shade. A lot of ladies are choosing to ease into the skin tone sheer tights with light black opaque tights, whilst the cooling spring breeze is still in the air.
Be sure to shine bright in the glossiest sheer tights for moonlit spring evenings out. The sheer tights are best worn during the evening to avoid blinding others in the daytime.
Rose Sherbet Lustre
Inject warm shades of pink to your legs alongside pastel-coloured spring outfits. Bright tights are perfect for bringing a popping colour palate to your summer’s wardrobe.

The team at Tightsplease will be sad to see no more of More! magazine, as it was one of the leading magazines referred to for all the latest in the world of tights fashion and hosiery, flaunted by celebrities. More’s upbeat and saucy fashion and celebrity updates would always help spark off some interesting conversations for the girls in the office.
More magazine featured Jonathan Aston’s Sweet Rose Anklet Socks in April 2012′s White Wedding shoot. Ankle socks have been seen everywhere on the catwalks this season. Pairing them with heels has become a hot trend that seems to be lasting.
Unfortunately, time is up for the magazine that implied giving young readers aged between 18-24 ‘more’ than they bargained for. Bauer Media will draw the curtains on the bold and fresh features of the glossy mag, with news just in of the last issue this week, that might leave readers literally wanting ‘more’!
The rapid end to the magazine, born in 1988, sets off a significant wave of concern for the overall fading interest in women’s weeklies. The magazine will publish its final issue this week, after which it is due to be put to a rest.
The magazine was host to famous celebrities that were then presented as models splashed over the magazines glossy fashion spreads. TV Presenter, Vernon Kay and actress Sienna Miller were some of the few huge celebrities who then sported some fierce, chiselled pouts for exposure in More
Drawing towards the millennium, More! Magazine started taking various initiatives to broaden its scope, with the launch of their own awards in 2004. Apparently, the magazine had also tried to refresh and launch a different style at that time, in an attempt to increase readership.
The abrupt loss of the women’s magazine industry goes to show the cut-throat competition that seems to exist within the industry. With everyone using the similar styles and layouts to get the fashion buzz out there, the readers seem to be looking for something more!

The weather keeps us guessing during the transitional period of spring to summer. One second we are faced with a warming summer’s heat and blown away by a breezy, cold wind the next – sending shivers down our spines.
To get a look of sultry warmth that fits in well with both spring and summer, why not try some conspicuous legwear, ideal for those in-between tepid flushes.
The Red or Dead Mariela over the Knee Socks are superb for keeping your legs warm, yet slightly ventilated, whilst we wait for the weather to make up its mind. However, always remember to keep it simple! When sporting a pair of these, it is best to avoid wearing heavily patterned clothing.
The woven, cobweb feel of the over knee socks leaves your legs feeling ideally cool and fresh for a sublime shift from the nippy spring mornings to the toasty afternoons. Stay perennially chic in a pair of these elegant over knee socks.

As the weather turns, it is not easy to tell whether a sunny shower will last an hour. However, come rain or shine; use a rainbow of bright tights to prepare legs prepared for all eventualities, whilst staying in touch with spring summer 2013 trends.
As we witness a slight bit of sunshine through the dusky blinds, everyone starts to add a dash of bright colours to their outfits. Whilst some are perfect at using bold tones to perk up a mellow look for a clear winter to spring transition, others tend to cause a dizzying and blinding colour coma with random and dissimilar hues.
For spring summer 2013, it is crucial to wear the colour-blocking trend as it has been presented on the catwalk by designers such as Ivan Helsinki and Avril Lavigne. Twin some bright pink tights with glossy, black PVC, as Avril Lavigne does in her Abbey Dawn collection.
The same style is seen in Ivan Helsinki’s collection – perennially chic bold orange tights, with a black dress and black boots, help the tights stand out in a dashing manner.
For a look that is more appropriate for a sunny summer’s day, try Ivan Helsinki’s pairing of bright green tights with a neutral and earthy beige dress embellished with chunky red roses. The bright green of the tights matches the green of the rose leaves.
If you happen to be a fan of flower power, a trend that is mentioned above, try some Charnos floral net tights or decorate your dainty foot in a blossoming sweet rose’s anklet by Jonathan Aston.
