Forty Not Out

September 3rd, 2010 by Lauren

We love a bit of praise every now and again, and we love nothing more than when our fantastic TightsPlease fans put it in writing!

We recently sent Amanda, founder of fabulous fashion blog, Forty Not Out, a selection of Tights Please products for her to do a quick review on. The selection we sent included our exclusive to Tights Please, Red or Dead Addy Tights, Spanx Power Panties, and Charnos Cotton Cable and Ribbed Knee High Socks.

All three of the products are must have items and accessories for the season ahead! Spanx Power Panties are an essential, more so than knickers I’d say! Guaranteed to smooth out those lumps and bumps – yes please! Socks are now in a league of their own, worn with trendy brogues, chunky clogs or peeping over the top of boots, just like Amanda has in her photo, you can’t be without a pair they are this season’s ultimate accessory! Red or Dead is now exclusive to Tights Please and their Addy Tights are a quirky updated alternative to the seam tights!

Enjoy the weekend!

OUR FIRST FABULOUS ONLINE LOOK BOOK!

September 2nd, 2010 by Lauren

It is now totally impossible to be unaware of the trends for the season ahead, every magazine, from the weeklies that keep us up to date with the latest celebrity fashion faux pas to the monthlies that guide us in the direction of the celebs getting it right! As well as the hardcopy magazines, we also have their website counterparts and most recently, thousands of bloggers, also keen to point us in the right direction! It seems in all the excitement to keep us on trend; we are all slowly drowning in fashion overload (arguably impossible, but stick with me…) it’s becoming difficult to distinguish between the fads and the trends.

We hate to imagine all our Tights Please devotee’s avalanched under a pile of magazines and overheated laptops! So we’ve done all of the work for you and packed it into a fabulous online Look Book! What Festival?!

September 1st, 2010 by Lauren

For us here at Tights Please, and I’m sure many others would agree, being invited to the 67th Venice Film Festival would involve an outrageously expensive dress, fabulous shoes and a huge diva temper tantrum when the false eyelashes wouldn’t stay glued on! However, it seems for stunning Jessica Alba, none of this applies; she arrived at the Venice Film Festival in a denim jacket, a grey vest dress, loafers and opaque black tights, in this rig out she’d have struggled to looked dressed up at V Festival! This isn’t to say she didn’t look incredible, just unexpectedly under dressed.

She does however enforce how key the opaque black tights trend is for the Autumn Winter season. Incredibly chic, exceptionally flattering and featured all over this season’s best catwalks investing in a pair of reliable black tights is a must!

Wolford Velvet De Luxe 66 are guaranteed to keep your pins looking fantastic, not only do they offer exceptional quality but they are also incredibly comfortable and offer an ultra smooth appearance. For a more cost effective alternative to Wolford, Charnos 60 Denier Opaques are perfect!

Visit our black tights page now, you’ll find something to suit every occasion … including, apparently, film festivals!

Beyonce Stowles!

August 31st, 2010 by Lauren

Beyonce’s label House of Dereon is under fire! Beyonce has been accused of directly copying a pair of leggings that she was spotted buying last year from designer, E-label. E label have told the Daily Star that they were completely shocked by, what co-owner described the fiasco as a total ‘copy/paste’. Initially Helba Hallgrimsdottir, co-owner of E-label, had thought that the Crazy In Love singer was wearing their leggings in a shoot!

Absolute MOMSENse?

August 26th, 2010 by Lauren

For those who watch Gossip Girls; you’ll know her as the Blair Waldorf wannabe, but her off-screen counterpart couldn’t be further from the cutesy naive youth that she plays in the fashion fabulous, but incredibly catty, American series.

She arrived at Radio One on Tuesday for an interview with DJ Sara Cox in an incredibly quirky gothic get up! Bleach blonde hair down to her tiny waist, eyes thick with rock star black eyeliner, a zip up corset dress accessorised with this seasons must have item – Jonathan Aston Sweet Rose Hold Ups. She looked sensational in a satanic, gothic, bang on trends kind of way, however, she has caused huge outrage, mainly because she’s only 17. What do you think? Outrageously young, or fabulously expressive?

Black lace was bursting off the Autumn Winter catwalks again this season, and we have a huge selection to choose from on our lace tights page including the Jonathan Aston Sweet Rose Lace  Tights, a slightly less controversial version of the Jonathan Aston Sweet Rose Hold Up’s seen on Momsen. Featured on the cover of two magainzes this month, Lace is not only popular with the us and the catwalks, but the fashion mags love it! They’re going fast! Grab yours quick!

August 25th, 2010 by Lauren

It’s simply not possible any more, to be unaware of the latest trends. From magazines to blogs, we have a huge amount of access to every style

and trend from all over the world! If you’re reading from the internet, we even have the option to voice our own opinions; agreeing and disagreeing with people who spend two seasons a year, sat on the front row of fashions most exciting catwalks! How incredible is it, that we have the ability to do this?!

August always causes the biggest fuss because every magazine on the stand is buzzing with all of the Autumn Winter key trends, desperate to

burst open and guide us through the best catwalks!

One of Elle’s key trends has been shoes and socks. Initially inspired by Alexander Wang, who set off the hold up’s trend last season, it’s set to be one of the coolest looks of the season! At Tights Please we love it, because it’s an instant update, you can be catwalk fabulous in no time! Don’t ditch this seasons clogs, wear them with a pair of Pantherella Over-The-Knee Socks in White! Or follow Gucci’s lead with lace, our Levante Lace Ankle Socks look incredible with the new kitten heel court shoes!! For more inspiring styles, visit out socks pages now!

What Would Your Mama Do…?!

August 24th, 2010 by Lauren

What Would Your Mama Do…?!

Suspender Tights?! First she was first spotted wearing them on a night, with a ‘good friend’. And this weekend she performed wearing them at V Festival and looked sensational! Clearly Pixie has a Lotta love for the new suspender tights! And who can blame her? They’ve been brought to our attention by one of our favourite London based designers, Henry Holland. His latest collection features exceptionally cool designs that the celebrity club simply can’t get enough of; Sophie Ellis Bextor was also seen looking outrageously cool in his tights last week!

Tights are a great way to match a celebrity trend without breaking the bank. If you’re looking to cause a stir then Henry Holland tights are what you need! Visit our Henry Holland Tights page now and secure yours before Pixie steals the Lott!!!

Where’s my LBD? In the dictionary!

August 23rd, 2010 by Lauren

The LBD, short for Little Black Dress, has been in fashion for decades! It’s the wardrobe staple that no woman can live without, almost like a best friend, it’s there for us in times of desperation (like last minute dates) and when we need to feel fabulous (the planned ones!) Yes the Little Black Dress is a trustworthy, iconic wardrobe staple

Finally the LBD’s loyalty has paid off! Its hard work has been recognised by The Oxford Dictionary of English and the abbreviation LBD was

added to the third addition of the dictionary on Thursday! Congratulation’s LBD!

To celebrate the success, treat your LBD to a style update! What keeps the eldest member of our wardrobe out of the (GASP!) charity shop is because we can easily update it every season with key accessories, and this Autumn/Winter Tights Please has exactly what you need to carry

your favourite item forward!

Gucci married off their LBD’s with lace tights, where as Prada was all about collaborating theirs with thick ribbed wool tights ones! Givency opted for opaque tights including post box red tights, and Mui Mui went cosmetic tights crazy, unable to resist the stunning natural leg look!

You don’t have to choose one look, be fashion fabulous and go for them all! But whatever you do – be quick! This season’s leg wear is not to be overlooked!
